Middle school is an opportune time to expand students’ horizons, and to plant the seeds for critical thinking skills and content knowledge that’ll propel students to success through high school and beyond.

We at Omkar assure all the efforts to ensure that students at the middle level are prepared and confident to face the challenges ahead as they progress to higher grades.

Technology, teaching strategies,  classroom management – 

Every week, new content is published about using technology and practical teaching strategies. We utilise classroom resources to build stronger relationships with students.

Education is not about acquiring knowledge; it is about developing a well-rounded personality. It is about nurturing talents, sparkling creativity and encouraging strength to explore their passions. We must remember that the true purpose of education is not to create successful individuals, but to create individuals who care about all aspects.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY

 

Coupled with classroom management, motivation and a welcoming classroom environment we cater to a multitude of learning styles.

The five stages are:

Empathise – Develop empathy, and find out the needs for the solutions.

Define – Define issues and the potential of addressing them.

Ideate – Think and generate new, creative ideas.

Prototype – Make a draft or sample of the solutions to explore the ideas further.

Test – Test the solutions, evaluate and gather feedback.

 

CURRICULUM

 

OMKAR  INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL demands and draws an ‘enriched curriculum’ – a curriculum which goes beyond the prescribed printed words of textbooks and the confines of the classroom to give a 360 degrees perspective of a known fact in any given subject. The result is analysing, experimenting, applying, evaluating and challenging the proven facts to create new factual knowledge for the coming generations.

Our curriculum, thus, reflects contemporary thinking about what students need to learn in order to lead successful and rewarding lives.It  works towards grooming the learners to become responsible, confident and reflective individuals; individuals self motivated to engage in innovative activities. Pedagogy guided by neuroscience, bloom’s taxonomy, and multiple intelligences, to mention a few ‘make every moment of learning meaningful, joyous and most importantly effective’. Learners are further encouraged to develop a global view through interdisciplinary learning.

We include technology across the curriculum to enhance the learning process. We believe in blended learning which contributes the best of both realms i.e. self-paced digital learning and facilitator-based classroom teaching.

Technology also changes the way teachers teach, offering educators effective ways to reach different types of learners and assess student understanding through multiple means. As technology is effectively integrated into the curriculum, our teachers grow into true facilitators. It helps to make the process of teaching-learning more engaging and rewarding.
